Yoshi's Island Hit That Switch
Hit That Switch!! Is the second extra level in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and its remake Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3. The majority of the level revolves mainly around the use of! All the Red Coins in this level are found in plain sight. Can we just talk about Yoshi's Island DS for a moment? That every time I get hit in the Wii U one I think 'Oh damn, now I gotta go catch the baby!' It takes too long to switch from one baby to another, which kinda leaves a sour taste in some people's mouths. I did enjoy the individual baby's skills though, while Wario's was gimmicky. The Yoshi's Island series is a video-game sub-series of the Yoshi franchise. It is a series of 2D side-scrolling platformers starring Yoshi, who has the unique ability to throw eggs to defeat enemies. The games generally feature a colorful, storybook-like art style. The games function as prequels to the present era of the Mario franchise, as they are set in the infancy of Mario and Luigi.

Endless World of Yoshis, or Crazy Maze Days,[1] is the Secret Level of the final World in Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3. It is the last Secret Level in the game, and is a difficult and time-consuming level. It contains many puzzles and difficult platforming challenges. The player must make use of the surrounding enemies to get a score of 100. Layout[edit]The level starts with an automatic side-scrolling section, with many small platforms and no ground to land on if the player falls. There are many enemies in important locations such as on platforms, making it hard for the player to keep up with the screen safely. Once the player clears this section, they will enter a Warp Pipe into a castle area where the layer must fall down a long distance while avoiding many Thorns suspended in midair, which will cause the player to lose a life if hit. There is a Middle Ring at the bottom if the player survives the fall; however, it is generally wise to complete more of the level before using it, as the level has many areas which lead back to the same room, with the thorns having to be avoided again. From here the player can choose to take the left or right path, both containing Flowers and Red Coins which are needed to get a 100% score for the level. There are rooms at the end of each path, with several choices of doors to go through. One on each end leads to the left or right area of a grassy section of the level, which has the tutorial music. This area contains 2 Flowers and several red coins. Once the player has all the collectibles from this area, they must go back to the room with the lava and midair spikes to get to a different door. Eventually, the player can use a Key to enter a vast, lava-filled cave area. This area contains 2 more Flowers, and many pits full of spikes which can instantly defeat Yoshi. After manipulating a Chomp Rock to hold a One-Way Gate open, the player can get a key to an area where a Super Star is needed to progress. When the player clears the cave area, they will enter one of two final sections of the level; a short flowery field that is an exact replica of Welcome To Yoshi's Island with the Goal and a pit, or if an alternative path is taken, right before the entrance to said Goal. However, it has the addition of Kamek attacking the player every few seconds, making it harder to complete. Just before the Goal is the final Flower, in a Winged Cloud. Enemies[edit]Gallery[edit]

The Yoshi's Island series[1] is a video-game sub-series of the Yoshi franchise. It is a series of 2D side-scrolling platformers starring Yoshi, who has the unique ability to throw eggs to defeat enemies. The games generally feature a colorful, storybook-like art style. The games function as prequels to the present era of the Mario franchise, as they are set in the infancy of Mario and Luigi, where the Yoshis must work to save Baby Mario and others, including Baby Luigi, from the machinations of Kamek and Baby Bowser. Indeed, the defining trait of the series is that the controlled Yoshi carries a baby character, who ends in a bubble when the former is hurt. When this happens, Yoshi has a set number of seconds to rescue Mario, which can be increased in various ways.[1] The series is primarily developed by Nintendo EAD, with some games being developed by Artoon or other companies. The series began with a console title, but switched to a focus on handheld entries with Yoshi's Island DS.

Gameplay[edit]The basic gameplay of the Yoshi's Island series is that of a 2D side-scrolling platformer. In addition to the basic run and jump actions, the Yoshi being played as is able to use their tongue to manipulate objects and to eat enemies in most of the games. Once an enemy is eaten, it can be ejected or swallowed. If swallowed, the Yoshi will be able to lay an egg which can be thrown at objects or at enemies. The Yoshi can obtain various power-ups to help complete the level, many of which involve transforming into various vehicles. The baby that the Yoshi carries on his back (usually Baby Mario) can also give the Yoshi various abilities to aid it. The defning feature of the series is the fact that, when the Yoshi is hit by an obstacle that does not make him lose immediately a life, the baby he is carrying ends in a bubble and a timer starts to decrease. If the Yoshi does not manage to pop the bubble before the timer reaches 0, some enemies, typically Toadies, kidnap the baby and the Yoshi loses a life. The spin-offs in the series feature somewhat different gameplay. In Yoshi Touch & Go, the player must draw lines of clouds with the Nintendo DS Touch Screen, guiding Yoshi and Baby Mario away from enemies as they float down. Enemies can be defeated by drawing bubbles around them or by throwing eggs obtained from eating fruit at them.
