Bandits are trick villains that first appear in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, they have also appeared in many other games. They usually steal from unsuspecting victims and they cloak themselves in colorful robes and angry masks. These masks however move with their facial expressions. Bandits, along with Shy Guys, are some of the most common enemies in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, where they come in two colors. The blue ones wander around until they spot Yoshi and Baby Mario, then give chase. If a Bandit successfully catches Yoshi, it takes Baby Mario and runs away.
The stage represents the Bandit's debut in Yoshi's Island. Itsunomanika Heihō is a rare type of Shy Guy appearing in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3, and Yoshi's New Island. Itsunomanika Heihō appears as a normal Shy Guy and hides behind foreground objects, such as crystals; if a Yoshi runs through the hiding spot, a Bandit will appear and run off with Baby Mario, leaving the Itsunomanika Heihō in his place.
